Howdy!
For those interested in Japanese manga ...
There is a manga entitled "Hikaru no Go" that is quite interesting. I believe a few years ago, the Nihon Kiin (Japanese Go Association) was involved in starting "Hikaru no Go". The purpose was to spark interest in Go amongst the youngsters in Japan. It is published weekly in "Jump"; plus, there has also been regular manga publications and even anime movie(s?). Apparently, these efforts have been fruitful.
Anyway, 8 volumes of translated (into English) "Hikaru no Go" can be found online at: http://www.toriyamaworld.com/hikago/
A thread in rec.games.go has other links for much more of "Hikaru no Go": http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&threadm=3c6b5038%240%2426604%24afc38c87%40news.optusnet.com.au&prev=/groups%3Fnum%3D25%26hl%3Den%26group%3Drec.games.go%26start%3D25
Enjoy!
