Hello all
This is my first post so a hearty welcome to all.
My question:
I have been training in Matayoshi Kobudo for about 3 years now, and the first kata that we learn is Shu-shi-no-kon (no dai or sho in my style).
I am just wondering if anyone can shed some light onto what Shu-shi-no-kon actually means. In the Fumio Demura book it says that this kata was designed by Chinen.
However, several people have told me that this kata is named after a man called Shushi, just like Matsumura-no-zai etc.
I know that people on this forum will be able to answer this question (I have posted on another forum to no avail)
