View Full Version : Refurbishing an Iaito?

Hello,

I have decided that my next project will be an attempt to re-wrap the handle of an old iaito which I own. I really don't know what I am doing, which is why I am going to try it on a sword which will go on my wall--but I would still like to see if I can do it. Does anybody have any resources which they could point me towards? I would like to do it as correctly as possible.

Thank you,
Todd Stephens

The Art of Tsukamaki, by Thomas L. Buck (http://pages.prodigy.net/tlbuck/tsuka/tsuka.htm)

I can't vouch for the above document since I know nothing of tsukamaki, but was in my link collection. Worth a look I guess. Good luck. Cheers.

Thank you! That was exactly what I was looking for. My biggest question was regarding the knot at the kashira--now I just need to sit down and practice, practice, practice.
