It is commonly held, here in the military communities of Japan, that even after a successful parking maneuver, with no other cars in the area even remotely near your car, that there is the risk of someone receiving a slight neck injury.
It is guaranteed following a real collision...:D Whether injuries were exhibited or not, whether the collision was a car totalling insurance nightmare, or the glancing feathery touch of one bumper 'gainst another, somebody is coming back with a slight neck injury...
