Has anyone used these? I noticed that the Maj. Bristol of the USMC is using these with the IHS combatives program, which is why I posted in the CQC area. I talked to a couple of guys on another board and they said that one could use regular weights for the same effect. Still, the IHS folks training the Marines are serious practitioners so I'm not ready to pass on kettlebells just yet.

thanks

Tim,

I have the 36lb kettlebell & have found it to be a very versatile piece of equipment. I really like it. The only real downside is the price. I agree that you can use a dumbell instead of the kettlebell. However, the offset weight displacement of the KB makes it unique. Believe me, a 36lb KB is much tougher than a 35lb dumbell! I also suggest that you get the KB book & video. I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

You might want to go to the links below. If you check their archives there have quite a few treads on the kettle bells, especialy the animal ability board. Hope these help.

Hmmm...those were some interesting posts. I think I'm going to buy the video and one of the lighter kB's after I get paid this month.

This is sort of random, but some of the stuff on Pavel's webpage reminds me of the Goju chishi weight practices I've seen.
