I have found one post regarding hypoglycemia and martial arts training. Now I ask all of you if you know of any resources for learning about diabetes and training. I love working out, and working out hard, but it is difficult to keep the sugar levels balanced. Usually I end up low, or overcompensate for a workout and end up high. Thanks for any advice!

Hi John:

Try starting here:

Boswell E, Davis D, Partin L, et al: The activity activity: A tool for teaching how to adjust for exercise variations. Diab Educ 23:63-66, 1997

Tamis-Jortberg B, Downs D, Colten M: Effects of a glucose polymer sports drink on blood glucose, insulin, and performance in subjects with diabetes. Diab Educ 22:471-478, 1996

Thank you so much for the response, I'll be sure to check those out, and of course come back with any further questions.
