Hello all!
I was hoping that someone out there might be able to point me in the right direction.
I recently aquired calligraphy that I believe may be the work of Yamaoka Tesshu. Does anyone know where I might be able to get an expert opnion?
Thank you in advance for your help!

If I knew your location I could refer you to an Asian Art Historian that would be able to help you...

You can also ask for a reference from your Art History Museum.

My knowledge of east coast geography is horrid. I had to find Morgantown on a map!

You are in luck because you are in close proximity to Pittsburgh. The Carnegie Museum of Art focuses on 19th and 20th century art. ). Try the education department first. They usually have all the answers. Keep in mind that an appraisal will not come cheap, especially from a professional at Carnegie.

If you really want to spend the big bucks, the University of Kansas has one of the better Asian Art History programs in the country.

Good Luck!
