i found on the french website the history of so doshin:

http://perso.club-internet.fr/shorinji/

but as i guess most of you dont speak french, ill translate the most interesting part:

born in 1911 in okoyama ken (disctrict). so doshin go to mandchouria after the death of his father to live with his grandfather who was railway worker. when enventualy his grandfather die. he went back to japan under the guidance of mitsuru toyaman, friend of his grandfather who was the founder of the armur river society (black dragon sect).

in 1928 he come back to mandchouria, as secret agent of the armur river. to cover his activies he become the diciple of a taoist monk, member of a secret society named zaijan and also master of the byakurenmonken. he learn his technic and go on traveling and meet many master, perfecting his art.
while traveling in beijin, he meet the master of giwamonken, 20th successor of the shaolin quan. he became his dicilple and later the 21th successor of the nortern shaolin quan.

In 1947, the soviet army invade mandchouria, while so doshin is there, realing to lost of hope of peaple and the lost of their traditional value, he want to creat a new philosophy to relieve their pain.
in 1948 he dream that a darma show to him a direction with his finger.
but he's unable to move and just sream for the darma wait for him.
awaked he realise that the darma wanted him to follow his path.
he decide to teach "arahan no ken" and the philosophy "ken zen inchinyo riki ai funi no homon zen"
they will be called later shorinji kenpo and , kongo zen.

this history made me ask questions:

-what is zaijan sect?
-was the chinese aware that so doshin was in armur river?
-did so doshin quit the armur river when japan was defeated?
-does the armur river still is active?
-was the designation of a foreigner as the succesor of shaolin a politic message to chinese gouvernement? (as shaolin was involved in politic and still is)
-what does mean "arahan" ?
- i read that armur river member were so well trained that none of them had ever been caugh, does anyone can confirm this?
-will i die if i discover too much ?
:p :p

kimpatsu there is the voice of so doshin recored on the website, but its is in japanese, could you translat it?
im sure youll be happy to hear kaiso voice, its one the so doshin link, then look for his image, with the "sa voix" writhen down

cheers

Hi, Demi.

Next I leave some links about the Amur River Society:

http://vikingphoenix.com/public/JapanIncorporated/1895-1945/dragon.htm

On the other hand, arahan (Pali word), arhat (Sanskrit word), lohan or luohan (Chinese words), or rakan (Japanese word), are terms that make reference to 18 (according to the Chinese tradition) or 16 (according to other traditions) legendary figures of Buddhism, venerated by being the Buddha Shakyamuni's most chosen disciples (a species of apostles, which later were seen like guardians). According to certain tradition of Shaolin, from the positions that adopted in the temple these eighteen figures, Bodhidharma would have extracted the primitive eighteen exercises that with time gave origin to kempo. Arahan no ken (luohan quanfa) is, for it, the primitive Shaolin boxing, before it derived in a multiplicity of styles and even in one first stage, according to some interpretations, of that it had some martial intention.

Maybe someone can say something more.

Best wishes.
