I posted this on the Judo forum, but think it might be more applicable here .. so here goes:

I have done a fair amount of Judo and Jujutsu and am puzzled by the latest trend of competition in Jujutsu in the UK. I wonder, what do Jujutsu-ka have to say about it.

Personally,I did Judo to test my throwing / grappling skills, and Jujutsu to learn the dangerous stuff.

Will Jujutsu turn into Judo?

Rupert,

Most jujutsuka practice more and worry less about these things.

Hi Rupert.
I live in the UK but have not seen a disproportionate amount of competitions around in Jujutsu here...Where did you see them advertised?
Will Jujutsu turn into Judo? Has it not already done so as Judo?....I personally care little about it...Koryu will remain Koryu and Judo will stay as Judo..Other forms come and go but as Benjamin said it really doesn't matter too much to me.
If there are competitions then there are rules. If there are rules then its Judo...Why not keep it all the same?
Sorry to be negative but really...
