Gang:

This is a quote from the magazine Maishin Shorinji Vol 1, No. 1:

"HamaHiga no Kun is actually an Ekku kata and is found in the Yamane Ryu system."

My questions:

Does any one agree with the assertion that HamaHiga no Kun is actually an Ekku kata?

Secondly, does anyone know that if the Yamane Ryu version is simialr or the same to the version that was taught by Richard Kim?

Very curious,

I've not heard of an eku kata in Yamane Ryu.

Hello,

I believe the way I stated my question was/is confusing. What I was trying to state is the bo kata commonly known as HamaHiga no Kun is purportedly in both Richard Kim's lineage and Yamane lineage. I was wondering if it was basically the same kata.

As a side issue, this magazine states that the bo kata is actually a ekku kata. I was just wondering if anyone else held that belief.

I hope that clarifies my line of inquiry,

All the best,
