Hi..
I'm very interested in trying some sake, but I've failed (so far) to find any information available on sake buying in the UK. Is anyone aware of anywhere in England selling sake of good quality (something suitable for someone who hasn't drunk sake before..)?

Many thanks,
David

They are judo organizations rather than sake-sippers (or so they tell me), but I'm willing to bet that somebody there can recommend someplace in The City where you can buy most anything.

The Budokwai: http://www.budokwai.org
The Kano Society: http://www.kanosociety.org

Also see Michi Online for a plug for a book about sake:

I used to get it easily enough from any Chinese wholesalers. You won't get anything spectacular though. Just the usuall Ozeki, Hakutsuru or Shiranami. I use to be able to buy it in Cornwall, so York should be easy.
