Sounds quite in line with my interpretation! I'm always trying to remind my fellow Christians who are of the, uh, conservative persuasion that the Man Upstairs was pretty left-wing. You know, charity to the poor, women's rights, things like that.

I asked for the first "documented" instance.
As a physicist I know it was Ernest Rutherford.
As a christian (such as I am, anyway) I believe Jesus turned water into wine.
As a scholar I know that many things in the Bible just aren't true...
As an aside, Ernest Rutherford was the first to document what was happening in that experiment; quite a few others had performed the very same thing, notably Marie Curie's daughter Irene, who didn't realize that part of what she was doing...
and I would have accepted "Jesus" as an answer!

What if you're a manic depressive and hate yourself? If you're considering suicide, you might just decide to "euthanise" your neighbour, first...
Or, to be more serious for a moment, the concept of "love thy neighbour as yourself" can only be considered Christian if it is unique to Christianity. The same philosophy can be found, however, in other religions, and in secular humanism, which isn't even a religion at all.
I don't mind continuing this discussion, Aaron, but I don't think it belongs here in Budo Fun. Care to start another thread in the Members' Lounge?
