Hello All:

Can anyone assist in locating Robert Trias's Organization ? I believe that it use or currently known as United States Karate Association (USKA). Is his organization still active ? If not what is the current organizations name ?

Can any one direct me to a website that is linked to the main headquarters ? Or even a phone number and address.

Thank you so much in advance for the info.

Roberta is the daughter, and heir, although many of the old timers have or had a problem with following a lady.

George Anderson, was a leading entity, but formed his own large group.

John Pachevas was head in Florida, and although disputed, seemed to be one of, if not THE most senior, but alas, he passed away. John jr. is still on the go though, as is Andy Horne, and Larry Pizzi.

Bob Bowls among others of repute are still active.

As Steve has mentioned, Roberta is the daughter/heir.
The USKAlliance is a break away group of some of the Seniors who didn't want to follow Roberta, for reasons that I'm blissfully unaware (and planning on staying that way.)

Phill Koeppel also started his own group, the US Karate-do Kai
http://www.uskk.org/

George Anderson formed the USA Karate Federation, after the passing of the Sports Act, prohibited a multi-sport body, like the AAU from being the National Governing Body (NGB) for any particular sport. So, the USAKF was the NGB for karate under the umbrella of the USOC, until the USANKF wrested the NGB status from the USAKF.

Rob, Steven,

Thank you getlemen for the wealth of information you have provided. wow ! I guess Robert Trias was the glue that held this organization together.

I guess that the old guards ( Love this word) must felt betrayed when Roberta was picked as the succesor. I've always thought that when a founder of an organization passed away or retires, the board members would vote for their new leader.

Well, as I mentioned to someone on this list, I am doing a legwork for my Sensei ( Phil Skornia ). I think he just wants to reconnect
with the people he knew back then (somewhere between the 60's or 70's)

Thanks again guys !
