Is that a Shinto ceremony?

It was actually somewhat of a mixed ceremony. It had various elements including Buddhism, shintoism, Robert Heinlein sci-fi mythos, as well as some personal touches. It was performed by a southern Buddhist monk.

Neither Lori or I are practicing 'anythings' but there are a lot of elements from Buddhism that we both believe. We decided we wanted to do something spiritual...but not overly religious. All in all it turned out very good and everyone that came regardless of denomination enjoyed it and felt it was beautiful.

Thanks for all the kind words and best wishes from everyone!

Congratulations and I would like to offer you some advice.

Things in your marriage will not always be pleasent. Tempers will flare, wills will clash and anger will rise. But no matter how bad the situation, those three magic words will carry you through the worst and restore love and peace to your house. The three magic words we all know will keep your marriage intact as long as you are brave enough to use them, no matter what it does to your macho image. They will insure that your mariage lasts until the twilight of your lives and will fill your household with good will.

The three words are, of course, I was wrong.
