Hello all,
I have an opportunity to teach a class 2 times a week in one of the empty training rooms in the building where I work. I have however run into the red tape choke hold of having my HR department wonder about insurance. Ther have insisted that I present my proposal to a board so that the board can decide to either sponsor a club or reject it. I get the impression that they would sooner saw no than go out on a limb. The real kicker is that I am in Tokyo where you would think they understand that martial arts students do not sue for minor injuries. That thought aside I am hoping that someone could direct me to a study done on the benefits of training. Something with a cost benefit analysys in the workplace would be fantastic but I could use any kind of comparison of the frequency of injuries in the arts as compared with say basketball, soccer, and golf. I would also be able to use anything that mentioned the mental benefits and relaxation, reduction in workplace stress or the like.
Best regards,
Tim Jurgens
