Okay, another question... This time, in loads of pictures and films say samurai films or pictures of taiko drmuuers, they often wear white headbands, do you know what the significance of this is, and why it is worn, and in what situations? Any advice would be most welcome!

Hachimaki sweat headbands are symbolic of physical activity or action. If it is tied in the front, it is called muko hachimaki. If it is tied in the back, its ushiro hachimaki. A twisted band is sometimes seen, and it is called a neji hachimaki.

It is said the warriors started wearing hachimaki first, to help hold on their eboshi caps. Commoners picked up on it, but without the eboshi.
