How do you think having a good life and good heart effects Budo? And also ever seem like to you guys that this art works best when it is needed and not for showing off or anything because it seems like it to.

I consider having a good life and a good heart an integral part of budo training-the training becomes the cause of the good heart and the good heart becomes the reason for training. That's just a gut reaction, nothing I can support. Sounds nice, though. :D

I won't surmise on how effective the art is in certain situations, though I've noticed that defenses work better when there's intent behind the attack-something that happens less often when you're demonstrating to an untrained unbeliever, say. Just my cent on that topic.
