Hi all,

does anyone know of any club practising cutting in the UK, other than sensei Zediker or Sensei Smith, Toyama Ryu?

I will chip in before Tim does!

Roshukai is Iwata Norikazu Sensei's group in Europe. They do Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu as taught directly by Iwata Sensei. Frequent visits by him to the UK and lots of visits by his western students to Japan have produced a high level. In Iwata Sensei's words, "Well at least someones got it right! Wish they could do the same here in Japan".

Tameshigiri is part of the grading curriculum only. Your chances of finding a big Batto Renmei as yet are just about as remote as it was finding a seitei group years ago.

Thanks guys,

We have contacts with the Roshukai, but were not aware that they were into cutting. As a club, we have not done much in this field (one Toyama Ryu seminar for three of us), and wanted somewhere that could provide guidance to get us started safely.

Between your replies, and some private mails I have received in responce, we have several avenues to follow up.

Thanks again for all the help

Patrick
