I was unclear as to where to post this notice but thought that this board might be appropriate. I was informed today that Master Minoru Mochizuki, the creator or Yoseikan Aikido Budo died on May 30th, 2003 at the home of his son, Master Hiroo Mochizuki. He had just, last month, turned 96 years old. Master Minoru Mochizuki was a true treasure of Japan and an inovator of martial arts and all of us in Yoseikan, world-wide are saddened at this news.

My condolances to both family and students.

But what a life it must have been! Just to think of the things he saw and did bogles my mind. It would have been wonderful to have known him.

PS I think you should post this in the aikido forum as well...perhaps in the Styles thread, if not the main forum.
