Can someone please send me some references (URLs or books) for Yoga or stretching sequences??

I'm interested in positions that can be linked together, sort of like a form I suppose, just to give as many parts of the body as possible a good stretch.

Cheers.

Sun salutations (sorry forgotten the sanskrit term) are an excellent Sequence. There are several ways of doing them of differing length and complexity - but they're kind of an 'instant yoga session' and worth it if you haven't got time to do a full workout.

I'm sure a google search will turn up some info - or most yoga books will have at least one sequence illustrated.

Failing that, pop along to your local yoga class, take a couple of lessons and ask the teacher to help put together a routine for you.

Cheers,

Mike

Thanks! I found this site, once you told me about 'sun salutations' - thought it was okay

http://www.yogasite.com/sunsalute.htm

That's the jobbie.

Plenty of grappling bunkai in that kata too, if one squints a bit...

:D

Cheers,

Muscle Energy Techniques are a great way to stretch, especially if you have a partner. Some of the info. requires some skills in palpation, knowledge of physiology, and a partner however.

Yoga is the bomb. Builds strength & flexibility. Keep it up!!!

All that Combat Conditioning stuff that Matt Furey sells is just Yoga but with reps instead of prolonged holding of asana. It's called Vyayam.
(do 50-100 Sun Salutes every day n see if you don't get a hell of alot stronger... & who said yoga was for pooh-sies!?!)
