I suddenly have an urge to go free climbing

I think free climbing is the most exillerating form of
self expression with out the restraints of safety one is left
to ones self in a more intense less relaxed tango with fate.

the more illegal the place is the better the climb in my experience
there is not really any cool places around here so I climb alot of
trees I'm willing to drive about five hours... and it is imperative
that there be no fees to be paid because free climbing isn't
free climbing unless it's free

consider me in Ft.Worth Tx.

can also fly to destination:D

One of the coolest part time jobs I've ever had was
changing the light bulbs on the radio anteneas for this radio
station that one of my freinds worked for as a maintenance
man...the tallest one was three hundred an seventy four feet...

It may not seem that tall but trust me you are up there
it had a good sway of about 18 inches and trust me that is allot
when you are up there funny thing though is the ambient
temperature is nearly twenty degrees farhrenhiet in difference.

I once went on a business trip to Ingle Wood Colorado
We were there for six weeks and stayed in this small town called
Castle Rock ...It was a cool place I entered some of my art work
in an amature art exibit there held at the Aspen Art Gallery

Any way, In the town along the inter state there is this
huge friggin boulder known as the Castle Rock...One Sunday
I got a hair up my but to go climb it so on the way to breakfast
I told the guy that was driving us to stop and let me out
that I was going to climb it he said " Your f-n' crazy man"
but any way there is a little park and picnic area at the base
Its like a giant ant mound with this huge boulder on top of it

I wish that my scanner worked so I could show you what I'm
refering to perhaps one of you could source it for the rest of
us?

So i finally got to where the rocks base was after a twenty
minute hike up the hill to see the emensity of this rock
Oh my god it was kinda scary ... I walked around it a few times
looking for some good spots to climb it...
there were a few wedges I managed to find and I climbed it about
six times in different places I had a blast and as I was leaving
I met up with some other hikers and one of them ,I'm guessing
a local, was like " was that you climbing up there in the front?"
I was like "yeah you could see me ?" and she was like "yeah but
didn't you know there was an easier way up around back?"
And I said," yeah I found that line as well"

What have been some of your most memerable climbs? let me know

peace love bliss and harmony are all products of
discontent... so go and drop something on your foot so you can
get over it allready...

Hello,
I climb things as well. Buildings are sometimes good. Around Denton there is Lake Ray Roberts. It has cliffs that go down to the water. They are not the highest things you've ever seen, but the idea of falling onto the sharp rocks and nobody knowing it makes it intense enough. Trees are convenient but not every tree is good for it.
If you want to try the lake let me know and I'll give directions by PM. I'm not sure I want the world wide web to know my secret spot(which is free of course).
I bought a "ninja" grappling hook recently for this very pursuit but, alas, it sucks without ninja shoes.

the last couple of weeks... the big trucks were swaying like
pre schoolers at recess,courious...Do any of you like to swing on

I love to climb, as many of us do. When you're on a wall and hang back for a sec to grasp the moment, you're in heaven. There's just something to it that is (sometimes) even better than benji, skydiving, and most of the crazy stuff the "civ's" have named extreme sports. I dunno what it is, but I intend to start climbing more actively to find out. A 15 m bulk wall has been planned for my gym, and will hopefully be ready soon, so I can start perfecting my skills. I'm only a beginner, but someday I shall be one of the 15 or so who've managed to climb niners :)
Anyways, old stone walls are fun to climb. They can get rather tricky going upwards, but are fun places to boulder if you're just passing by and get the urge.
The world is full of fun things to do, but unfortunately I just haven't got enough years ahead of me to try them all!

If you don't have any natural climbing sites try buildering.
Churchs, retaining walls, City Hall! all great places to climb if you don't mind getting arrested.;)
Or try bouldering, look for a climbing gym, etc.

Speaking of bouldering some of the best in the country is in your neck of the woods. Waco Tanks area.(though it may now be closed due to vandels).
All you need is a chalk bag and some good shoes.

On the East coast(U.S.) we have some great spots.
New River Gorge W.Va.
Seneca Rocks W.Va.
Looking Glass N.C.
The Gunks N.Y.
Table Rock N.C.
etc. etc.

Have fun and be careful.

I was wondering the same kinda thing when I saw them In
the magazine advertisements... My only suggestion is to
purchase one of those fanny pack things to put all your
ninja gear in... just occurred to me ,ninja carry a substancial
ammount of gear, how stealthy is that? hidden in plain veiw
is my M,O. (lol... all sinister like and stuff)but if you
must ,find hiding spots and install/remove gear and stash the
apparatae in secure locations untill there need is met again.

go in go out forward in reverse cover all evidenceladadadad,

or the easy way is simple and free...but before the lesson
begins in another thread I must ask Heir moderator if
adritjimon ninja-bilities is too way off topic to begin a
thread on something like that ...

Imagine if you can that as you leave your house ,you encounter
thousands of opponents ,your behavior in there presense dictates
what kind of trouble you can expect of them...there is no first
attack, remember it is neccesary to release kokoro on demand...
