For me it has to be a cosmopolitan... Or apple martini.

Van Gogh, Belvedere, Ketel One, Vry Dry vodka martini, shaken and bruised.
Drop of vermouth in a chilled martini glass swirled and then the excess poured out.
In a pint beer glass, 2 shots vodka, lemon twist added now, not after the shake. Shake vigerously, strain into glass, second twist rubbed on rim, give a twist over the drink to spray the oils, then drop in glass.
Repeat as needed until the world looks like a better place.
BTW, Van Gogh apple vodka works great with this.
If gin, then Beefeaters as a cheap gin, Bombay if better quality gin, Tanqueray Mallaca preferred. Olives in place of lemon.

Ana’s Cosmopolitan
4 parts Absolut Citron
1 to 2 parts Cointreau
2 parts Cranberry juice
1 part Lime juice
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Pretty standard, but I prefer a "sizable" lime wedge not a twist.
I just drink ‘em
I almost never make drinks at home (doubt there is a drop in the house) so other then the lime wedge substitution, I will usually take as served.

White rum martini, preferably with Wray and Nephew rum and VERY dry vermouth.
Vodka if the bartender looks at me like I'm nuts-Absolut.
