Hello,

I am looking for information about a jujustu instructor who taught in the LA area in the 60's and 70's. His name was Sanzo Seki and he taught at the San Fernando Valley Junior College. Any information would be appreciated. You can contact me through my e-mail address. sjacobson@nidlink.com.

Thank you

Stuart

Wow,
I did jj there at the exact same time as you are asking, but I didn't remember his name. Is he he one with the giant ego?

In about 1971/72, he was sandan in judo and, if you asked him, he was godan in his jujutsu which was straight out of the Kodokan judo manual, and similar to what I was doing at my judo dojo. Right after I left, about two, maybe three weeks later he was hachidan in that organization, but I didn't stick around long enough to find out exactly which that was. What do you know about him?

Also, Stuart, the link didn't work. Could you take another look and get back? You've got my interest, as well.

Thanks, John. I hadn't seen him in a long time,so since people were asking, thought I would find a picture. Seki (Jake Hayward) was the one being asked of here. I got an email from Stuart so I thought I would leave a picture. He was my teacher for about a year in LA at Valley Jr, College. He says he studied with Kano, but this I cannot verify, although on his senpai's website it does state so.
