Just a note that the Great British Empire returned from Paris last weekend with the 1st Prize for the European Jodo Championships. Congratulations to Steve Boyes, Matt Turner, Peter and the Manager Vito Tattolli.

I received the full iaido report from my friend Franck Cengizalp in France yesterday by this link...

Iaido Tables (http://www.ffjudo.com/Kendo/Documents/2003_Euro_%20IAIDO.pdf)

I went to the French Judo Federation website for the Jodo results and couldn't find them yet. I guess the two pages are under construction proper.

Can someone let this post know if/when they appear. The EKF website is also worth keeping an eye on.

It was amazing how much my French improved listening to the Japanese-French translator to fill in the gaps in my own understanding.

What format does the Jo comp take? I would think it would have to be kata? If so, is the kata performed by one or two people?

Just wondering, I was not aware that any Jo comps existed.

In it's most basic format it is you and your partner against your opponent and their partner during a set of predetermined kata. Sometimes you are judged on the jo side alone, sometimes as a pair.

You will notice I was robbed!

I think it was due to my overly long hakama which I have now fixed...
