Anyone know if anyone is still selling those leather sleeves that go over regular kendo shinai to make them into fukurojinai?

I got a real nice one from Beto Frausto at the Joseph Adriance seminar. Check with him at http://www.texasbujinkan.com/

Adding a leather bag to a kendo shinai does not make a fukuro shinai. The physical properties of the fukuro shinai I have used are quite different from kendo shinai+suede contraptions.

Bujin Design makes and sells a good one as does Tombo (Tim Bathhurst) and Jinnenkan.com. I own one from Bujin Design which is much heavier than the Tombo. I feel sorry for my training partners (who I specifically choose because they have friendlier Tombo buki).
Also...
Bujin Design's website has a page that briefly explains the reason for fukuro shinai.

i know theres a big difference in the cuts of the bamboo but the leather ones i've seen just make it easy to slide into and out of the obi and safe to land on. and it saves a bit of money
