View Full Version : NAPMA Bankrupt?

I was just reading the newest edition of Black Belt magazine and there was a short article on NAPMA. It basically said that Century had bought NAPMA because they had gone bankrupt. Does anyone know anymore about this?

I was a NAPMA member for about 6 years after they began. After awhile it seemed to be repeating the same stuff. Much was good and I did find value in my membership.

I think maybe they tried to do too much too soon. Century started up it's own organization, MAIA, in direct competition after being one of NAPMA's staunchest supporters. NAPMA started to get into sparring gear and uniforms and the like, and essentially snubbed Century.

It was just a bit of a shock, that's all. They had grown so much so quickly. I think they just tried to expand too much.

I believe that they are in the process of being reorganized, by Century. I know for a fact that John Corcoran will now be editing the NAPMA magazine, as well as "MA Success."

It has nothing to do with a bankruptcy, nor a reorgaznization.

There was a lawsuit and to the victors go the spoils.

Who cares?

Nothing to do with traditional doj's or "real" martial arts...
