Hello. I was wondering what the Bojutsu of Daito Ryu is like. I am still working on Ikkajo,Nikajo,Sankajo myself, and was curious if it looked like most Bojutsu I have seen. I have seen various Koryu and the Bujinkan, Genbukan. Do you tend to hold the Bo around it's center, or do you move down its shaft using more of the last quarter of it? I am just curious. Thanks.

As far as i know Daito ryu does not contain Bo Kata.

Most of the weapons in Daito ryu are short weapons, Tessen, Tanto, Hambo, Parrasol, Hobaku Jutsu (sp).

In addition there are Daito Ryu Kenjutsu Waza and Ono Ha itto Ryu Waza.

Some Daito Ryu teachers have experience of Bo but from seperate unrelated Systems.

Kindest Regards
Chris

I reckon it all comes down to where you train. I knew about the Hanbo, tessen, jutte, and various other weapons, but not much about the Bojutsu. I feel I might have enough experience in it anyway, but I was curious. Thanks for the input Chris and Nathan.
