Not off the top of my head. On the other hand, you're welcome to check out my dojo (http://www.bujinkansf.org) when you get to San Francisco.

If SF State is in SF, there is a San Francisco kendo club that meets in the city and also meets in Oakland, one in Berkeley, and I think they do iai as well, or that there is an iaido club nearby.

Hi!

Well, that one Iaido dojo you found taught by Diamondstein(Sp.? Sorry.)-sensei, they also have classes in San Fransico. Put your curser over the word "dojo," and you'll find the button for locations and directions.

Here is the URL:

http://www.iaido.org/iaido.html

Also, go here for a San Fransico Kendo club. This is the one mentioned by Charlie:

http://nckf.org/Main%20Pages/Schools.htm

And, I just checked their webpage, and Charlie was right, they also do Iaido. They teach ZNKR Seitei Iaido.

Hope this helps!

I believe it's Diamantstein-sensei.

Hi again,

Thanks Charles-san!

Oh, and I did more searching, and I came up with Guy Power-sensei's dojo, which is Toyama Ryu-Nakamura Ryu Batto-do(Hope I got that correct! Big mouthfull!). His dojo is located in the San Fransico Peninsula area, but I don't know how far that is from where you want to be.

Here is the URL to his site:

Oh, I forgot to mention earlier, be sure to call/e-mail the sensei first, to ask to watch a practice for any dojo you are interested in, ok?

Hope this helps!

Hi Raymond,

I know in a previous post, you've visited Diamanstein sensei's dojo in Berkeley and you should know that his group teaches iaido at two other locations in San Francisco as Carolyn had pointed out in her previous post.

If you've already established that you'll be studying with Diamanstein sensei's group, I would stick to practicing at one of their two locations in San Francisco.

As some of the other e-budoka in this thread and your other previous thread pointed out, the San Francisco Kendo Dojo (http://www.sanfranciscokendo.org) has at least two or three kenshi who practice ZNKR seitei iaido and Muso Shinden Ryu iaido, which differs from what Diamanstein sensei's group practices (ZNIR toho iaido and Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu iaido). My advice is to stick to one style of iaido as a beginner to avoid mixing different aspects of each style and getting a constant !!!-whooping from your iaido sensei.

To add to Carolyn's previous post regarding Guy Power sensei's dojo, he's located about 35 miles or an hour's drive south of SFSU in the South San Francisco Bay Area.

I hope this helps.

yea, I wasn't looking for another teacher, I was just looking for a club, mainly for karate. Im happy with my teaching now. I want to just meet with some people with same interest, and talk about it and stuff like that. and maybe a training ground where we can work out would be nice thought. stuff like that.

Does Gosei Yamaguchi still teach at SF State?
If he did, I'd take classes from him. He's the eldest son of Gogen Yamaguchi of Japan Goju Kai.
