weapon rack building: Referneces?

Rather than buying one, I was thinking about building my own weapon rack in my spare time. I got to thinking that it would be nifty if I built one that was traditional, i.e. based on Japanese traditional carpentry and perhaps one built without any screws or nails. I have seen racks before that look like they were built without nails or screws, but honestly don?ft really know how to go about it.

So, anyone know a reference; a book or set of plans that I could use in building my weapon rack? English or Japanese sources are OK.
