It is said "Ryu" has "gekirin" under its jaw. "Geki" means 'upside down'
and "rin" is 'a scale'. The literal meaning of "gekirin" is 'upside-down
scales'. A tradition says those who touch "gekirin" of "Ryu" will be all
killed by "Ryu". Hence comes a phrase "Gekirin ni fureru".
"Ryu" was a synonym of an emperor in old China and the history tells
there were many retainers who were killed only because they touched
"gekirin" of their emperors.
