http://216.10.1.92/ubb/biggrin.gif sorry i am a stubborn SOB.

The kendo program is a year long, and includes japanese language and culture classes. Training is twice a day. It seems like a great program. I heard they are also very generous with scholarships. The name of the institution is... ( http://216.10.1.92/ubb/biggrin.gif gotta play by the rules)

Hi,

welcome to e-budo. Please be so kind and sign with your full name, as it is the rule here on e-budo.

I know about a very good kendo program, but that is probably not what you are looking for... Sorry.

http://216.10.1.92/ubb/biggrin.gif see that was not so hard.

The programm is run by the International Budo University in Katsura city, Chiba prefecture in Japan. They are related to the Nippon Budokan. This course is a special course, which prepares foreigners for the university programm (mainly to bring up their japanese skills). You can choose either Judo or Kendo for this one year program as a major of specialization.

From my personal experience at this years International Budo Seminar, which was partly held there, i highly recommend it.

URL, dunno right now. http://216.10.1.92/ubb/biggrin.gif You got to figure that yourself out, if you want to make it to Japan.

Good luck,

Mark,

For exceptional herding quality and proper rabidness, I hereby appoint you with the dubious honor of moderator hatamoto. Thanks for helping me keep things going the way they should.

Heck, the thought of teasers never even occured to me as a guiding principle. Well done http://216.10.1.92/ubb/smile.gif

I do appreciate the help the community has pitched in with the forum, and I apologize for my sparse presence. Honest, once the dissertation defense, wedding, and iai rank tests are over, I should revert to a more sane attendance.

And, so that I don't feel completely guilty, I found a contact# for Katsura City: 81-470-73-1211. Presumably, bodies at the other end would know other spots to check. There's also an entry at http://www.toyokeizai.co.jp/business/unv_link/english_i.html, but no contact info. Perhaps, though, the webmaster might have additional information. Couldn't find much else relevant...
