Calling all foodies. I need a good internet source for a pickle press. I'd like a variety from which to choose. I'm fussy in the kitchen. Thanks.

You don't need any extravagant tools to make tsukemono. In Japan we always been using a wooden board and a fairly size stone for pressure. It depends on the amount of vegetable but a stone weighing around two Kilos should do the trick.
Be generous with the salt and throw in a red pepper for the road.

I've been using a weight plate and a wooden bowl, but I think I'm getting anal retentive in my old age, or maybe now that I'm living in Florida, the land of the diurnal cockroach, I want something I can toss in the dishwasher.

Hey, out here in Hawaii, we throw the roaches in the dishwasher, too! I'm not sure if they're diurnal or di-urinal, though....
