Has anyone here had a chance to view John Karry's Amercina Combatives video series. What's the general opinion about what he's teaching?

I read an article in this month's Balck Belt and found it pretty interesting.

I've got the set and I found them to be straight forward and practical.

Simple effe ctive responses applicable to all (most) situations...

Some of it looks funny because his uke (the attacker) doesn't dare move once John starts to defend himself because he is blind and brutal...if they move, he'll smoke them and every so often they get it anyway - you can hear the cup ring very loudly every so often. But it is not the frozen attacke rsyndrom of most complicated styles where in the attacker must wait for the defender to move, or poition or change something - they may not move but they are not waiting, every move the defender makes is a hit followed by three - four more.

I have found them to be of value taking my traditional karate students from a sparring mentality (ie, dead on the street) to a fighting mentality (ie, capable, not just trained).
