Hi, all. My home boy's job is moving him down to Pennsylvania. He's aware of all the dojos listed at the AUSKF site but he found these guys, which are right smack where he's going to be, but the contact info seems to be no longer working (dead e-mail, dead phone number). Anyone know anything about them?

Charlie,

I know this is not exactly what your homie is looking for but it is a good dojo with many well know Koryu names associated with it situated just outside of Harrisburg.

Itten Dojo, Inc.
4425 Valley Road, Suite 300
Enola, PA 17025-1444

Phone (717) 728-8871 • E-mail ittendojocho@cs.com

I had the pleasure to see Ellis Amdur there a couple of years ago and he is currently affiliated with their dojo.

The itten dojo is first class with a lot of good stuff going on, shinto muso ryu, aikido, and I belive nihon toho, but as you mentioned kendo specifically, and the tanshinkai dojo Ill talk about them.

Okutani sensei of the tan shin kai is a great teacher, I trained with him as my first kendo teacher 84-86 when I was just a pup in High school. I have met some of the current members at some of the Philly Japanese festivals they are friendly people and the training there seems to still be top rate.

If Your friend is looking for kenjitsu or iai he is welcome at my dojo, we are just across town from the tan shin kai.
