Well I am back with more eBay auctions. Found a couple more boxes of books and videos tucked away. Most of the books are related to Japanese culture, history and langauge. Not as many 'technique' books as the last round.
The first wave of auctions have been posted. 20 items so far. All are 3 day auctions. Staring bids range from $1.00 - $15.00. No reserves. A few have "Buy-it-now" options. Some of the highlights are...
1) The Bakufu in Japanese History (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=268&item=6927650170)
A collection of accademic essays presenting different perspectives of pre-modern Japanese political institutions. What?! You don't find that exciting! It really is a fascinating read.
2) Feudalism in Japan (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=268&item=6927651270)
Another great read. Explores the relations between the members of the warrior class (bushi) and the various institutions through which they exercised power.
3) Hired Swords - The Rise of Private Warrior Power in Early Japan (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=268&item=6927649056)
Another winner from Dr. Karl Friday!
4) The Ainu of the Northwest Coast of Southern Sakhalin (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=268&item=6927663692)
A number of posts have raised questions about the Ainu. This is a case study from the late 1960s of one of the last Ainu settlements.
There are more. The full list of auctions can be viewed here on my eBay seller page (http://cgi6.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=window_shopper999&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=50). I'll be adding more titles over the next few days.
That's it for now. Lots more to follow. http://www.e-budo.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/smileJapan.gif
