Hello everybody, I am looking to learn Iaido. I am very interested in this style of using the sword, but I have had a lot of trouble finding a dojo near me. I live in Bergen County NJ, and I am looking for a dojo within 45 minutes of me. I want to stay in state, which means no NY dojos either, since I wont be able to get there. Any help that could be provided would be very much appreciated! I have been looking for a dojo for a week and have had almost no luck.

Have you tried searching this forum? There's a search button at the top of the page. I'd also suggest searching over at http://www.swordforum.com as well.

However, I was bored at work and so took about 15 minutes playing with google. There seems to be several places that teach Muso Shinden Ryu

Tora Dojo
Gen Lee Jujutsu, Daitoryu Aikijujutsu, Muso Shindenryu Iaido,
Tang Style Taiji Quan and Taiji Jian

You also have the US Honbu dojo for Hontai Yoshin Ryu.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the help.

Yes, I have searched the forums Charles, but not extensively, I spent more time using dojo finders. I will try looking around the forums more with the search option

As for what you found on google, pgsmith, I have already found the gsadojo and aikidoschool links. They are both too far away from me for me to be able to go. As for the Tora Dojo, that one is new to me and seems like it might be close enough! Too bad they dont have a web page, that's rather annoying. Oh, also, I am only interested in Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido, not the other style that you mentioned. But thank you very much for your help!
