I'm looking to buy a used (or new) iaito for practice. I've got a budget of about 200 dollars including shipping. Also, I have big hands, so I'd ideally like a iaito with a tsuka longer than 11 inches (about 13 would probably be just right).

If anyone has an iaito they'd like to part with, feel free to email me at benwards1985 AT yahoo DOT com, with the appropriate punctuation.

BTW how's your height? According that you'll see what kind of size iaito you need...

Good luck! :p

Anything worth $200 including the shipping is not worth having to be honest, especially when coming from Tozando or Jidai in those price ranges.

BTW...height and blade length have absolutely nothing to do with one another when picking out a sword. I am not sure with this "standard" comes from, (more than likely gendai Iai) but it is not the best way to pick out a sword. The best way is to experience it by holding it and checking how it feels to you. Otherwise, save your $200 towards buying something you will be satisfied with and will appreciate in the years to come, otherwise you will be wasting your money.

Actually, blade length isn't all that important for my needs. From what my instructor has told me, I need something between 26 and 28 inches, but I have a very long reach, so anything will work, really.

The reason I'm spending only 200 bucks is that I've been looking at a Paul Chen iaito for about that much, and if I don't get any bites here, I'm going to buy that one.

Thanks for your info, though, Amphipolis and Mekugi.
