I was wondering if anyone would like to suggest their favorite novels (fiction) where martial arts/fisticuffs… are featured in the book, i.e. the main character uses MA. I am looking for some new books to read and thought perhaps someone might make a good recommendation.

Thanks

Heike Monogatari--go to the source!
Taiheiki--(tee-hee: See http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~rijs/Conlan.pdf)
Ryoma--Hillsborough (stilted, but historical fiction; I liked it.)
The Last Samurai--Ravina (not novel, though)
Harpoon--CW Nicol (better than I thought'd be)
Musashi--Yoshikawa (melodramatic)
Shogun--Clavell (CHANBARA)

Here are a couple old and new that I liked.

Shibumi - trevanian
Wave man - (forgot author, but you can get it at koryu.com)
Rainfall - Eisler
Hardrain - Eisler
Rainstorm - Eisler (and i heard he has at least 2 more coming out.

The Eisler books are newer and have great MA scenes, well researched, Eisler is a judoka, but his muy thai, brazillian jujitsu, and savate descriptions are really good, and well researched.
