Hi Aaron,
I've no idea where in B.C. Langley is. The only Japanese sword that I know of up there is MJER in Nelson and in Vancouver.

MJER is an Iaijutsu system, although they do have paired kumitachi kata, these are apparently very rarely trained, and only at advanced levels...

Lots of Kendo and Iaido in the Vancouver/Richmond area.

Here's the first place you should visit: http://kendo-canada.com/

Do a search for Steveston Martial Arts Centre in the phone book if you want to visit a really top notch facility. (If you didn't already know, Steveston has a large Japanese-Canadian community, going back to it's early days as a fishing/canning center.

Here's a direct link to a Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iai dojo in Vancouver that is also listed on the CKF site:

Shin Ken Kai Dojo (http://www.shinkenkai.org/)

HTH.

That's wierd. It posted as a link to my previous thread, instead of as an image.

Let's try this way:

Aaron, here's a link to the Vancouver Eishin Ryu Iaido Club.

http://www.ams.ubc.ca/clubs/iaido/

This dojo is affiliated not with the CKF, but with the CIA.

(No, all you conspiracy theorists out there; that's not the Central Intelligence Agency.
Nor is it the Culinary Institute of America.
In this case, it's the Canadian Iaido Association.)

CIA is the ZNIR-affiliated organization, CKF is IKF (ZNKR).

If you're coming from Langley for kendo, may as well go to Steveston. It's a great facility and a great bunch, including both the Canadian mens and womens team coaches.
