Hello:

I was wondering if anyone out there has a photographical reference for Hantagwa no sai that they could forward to me. I ask this because it is a kata that was included in Taira Shinken's kata mokuroku, but only seems to be passed down by Inoue Motokatsu's group. My own instructor, Minowa Katsuhiko, stated that he nor others had learned the kata. Therefore I am intensely curious about what its technical contents are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gibukai

Hello,

You could find a Hantagawa no Sai version in the 3 volume Inoue series. A special feature of it would be an opening trust with both hands to both sides, like in Aragaki no Sochin or Matsubayashi Wankan. (Unfourtunately I am not able to scan the pictures)

Regards,

Henning Wittwer

Thank you for your kind answer. I do have the Inoue volumes, but am missing the one with Hantagwa no sai. Hence the request :-)

Kindest regards,
