Back before the Great Crash of '00 http://216.10.1.92/ubb/biggrin.gif, I started a thread on stick bags in this forum. As a result of that thread, I ended up chatting with Tamara Chang from NM via e-mail, and eventually buying one of her custom stick bags.
I've been using the bag for the last few weeks, and I've been very happy with it. It's made from heavy canvas, with reinforced ends, webbing straps, and a full length zipper (definitely a bonus when you need that training knife that has sunk to the bottom http://216.10.1.92/ubb/smile.gif). The bag is also very roomy, with about an 8" diameter. Tami also added, at my request, D-rings, which allow me to fasten the top end down a various lengths depending on what I'm carrying.
From the flyer that came with my bag, Tami's prices range from $25 for a bokken-length bag, to $50 for naginata-length, which is what I purchased. I'm not sure if she has rejoined e-budo yet, but I would highly recommend you get in touch with her at tsc814@aol.com if you're looking for a bag.

I looked at Bu Jin's stuff. They don't make bags long enough for naginata...

No they don't as a standard, but then unless you order a Black bag everything that you order from BuJin is custom made anyway...they will make anything you want (within reason) even a Nougie nougie bag

Howdy Folks,
I am the proud owner of one of Tamara's bags too. After about 2 weeks of hammering out the specs, she went and made one of the best stick bags I've seen. Tye downs on the instde for securing stuff en route, double zippers so I can open it form the middle to get the little stuff out easily, interior and exterior pockets for wallet, keys, tanto etc., and it's expandable from 6 -almost 9 feet for when I want to carry my naginata. And I aksed it to be plenty big so I can carry all my stuff, bokken too, without having to take the tsuba off first! The construction is great and I've been very pleased with it. I highly recommend her work!
