Can anyone recommend some dojos in the NYC area? I'm in Westchester County. Thanks a bunch! :rolleyes:

NY Kobujodokai (http://www.ny-jss.org/jodo/) - only people in NYC that I know of doing Jodo.

I definitely suggest you contact that dojo. Mr. King was very helpful to me when I was trying to locate jodo in my area.

Hi Frank,

I'd recommend you check out Kobujodokai. It's the same group that Raymond Sosnowski referred to, but the link he provided is old. Check out the current website at www.kobujodokai-usa.org. Harvey King Sensei teaches Jodo classes (seiteigata and koryu) in Manhattan and Brooklyn and other members teach in other locations (Maryland, Massachusetts, and California). As you can see, we maintain active ties with Matsumura Sensei and travel to Tokyo at least once a year to train at Kobukan Dojo. If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me directly or just stop by one of the classes.
