I live on the border of MA and NH around the middle upper part of MA (fitchburg, MA area). I already go to an Iaido and Kendo dojo in the area, but im looking for Kenjutsu or Battojutsu dojo's and can't seem to find any. I was wondering if you guys knew of any in MA or NH. Thx.

There's good news. There are two different Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu dojos available in Boston. The easiest of the two to find is Boston Iaido. http://www.bostoniaido.com/ The website appears to be non-functional at the moment, but I'm positive there still going. If you like i can put you in touch with their sensei offline. Send me an email at the address in my profile.

I know Boston is a little ways off, but if these dojos are on the west side of Boston it might not be as bad as you think. I'm not sure exactly where they are.

I also know of a dojo near the University of Vermont Law School. Perhaps someone else can get you closer.

Now, there is a rule here that you sign all your posts with your real name. You agreed to it when you created your account. I'm afraid the moderators are quite strict about this sort of thing. The easiest way to take care of it is to click on the User CP link at the top of the screen and add your real name to your signature.

If you like Iaido, www.bostoniaido.com is a great choice. Nguyen Sensei there does amazing Iaido.

Just to update everyone, we are now Boston Samurai Arts instead of Boston Nami Ryu. Boston Samurai Arts remain to be a study group deeply involved in the study and practice of Nami Ryu Aiki Heiho. Thank you.

I see Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu listed on the instruction offerings list. Do you mind elaborating a bit on the nature of that instruction? What style, lineage, etc? The website seems a little vague.

Would it be "Nindo Ryu Iaijutsu"?

Nevermind

Long story short, it appears to be a Gendai style with some connection to the ninpo world. They appear to make no claims to being connected to a traditional Japanese style, unless I have misunderstood various posts in that thread.

If you are looking for styles with connections to authentic Japanese koryu sword arts, there are better choices already mentioned in this thread.

just for clarification on Sensei Fabres and his sword works, I thought this link might be useful, as for studying, Rebelo Sensei is always willing to assist people in instruction, or finding the correct instruction for them.
