Hi,

Where did the picture in the top left come from?

Just curious.

James :)

it is a good indication by the facial features that it was not a u.s. or allied training manual. My guess is (drumroll) Japanese imperial army!

My guess the picture is from Southeast Asia somewhere, like Indonesia. The skin tone seems to dark for Japanese, and the overall lack of uniforms makes me think a less developed country. (Hope i'm not pissing off the silat folks here) Also the vegetation looks tropical.
Ideas?

No James, I sure don't! It came from John Lindsey. Maybe he took the picture himself? :)

Isn't that Fairbairn demonstrating Defendu against a bayonet attack?

It's a photo from a never aired episode of "Gilligan's Island" where the skipper finally had enough of the fat jokes and lunges at Gilligan with a rifle bayonet assembly made by the professor from bamboo shoots and coconut rinds. Here's the origingal photo....

Many people do not know that the Gilligan and the Skipper were the first gay couple on TV.Think about it,if I were on that island with Mary Ann & Ginger,I would be saying " Thank you God, YES !!!!!!!!!!".Every time Mary Ann would but a move on Gilligan,he would run away, why? The skipper was always so dominating over Gilligan, rather strange.I think the Professor was 'doing'both Mary Ann and Ginger,at least he was doing Ginger, which explains why the Professor seemed so content.Sex on the beach, with two beautful women,Yeah Baby!
