This man has some books and videos published,whereas he claims to show/publish his deep studies in aiki,and especialy the biomechanics associated with it.

Has someone on this forum seen his book and/or videos,and what you do think of them?

Is there some really interesting material presented or is it mainly superficial bogus?

Hello,

All I know about him is that he is a regular with the Hiden Magazine "Budo Researcher" crowd, along with Sugasawa Kogen and others, who appear to spend far more time talking, and publishing everything they hear about budo, than actually sweating in the dojo. Personally, I wouldn't waste money on publications by people who don't have exceptional training and qualifications in the art. Like his co-researchers, he has already published a vast amount of books and videos.

FWIW, it looks like Mr. Takaoka is based out of the Tokyo area, and heads (primarily) a group called the "Undo Kagaku Sogo Kenkyu-jo" (Research Institute of Movement Science). He has webpages in Japanese at:

Thanks for the links Mr.Scott

In the meantime i saw some of his books and wasn't impressed..
It kinda reminded me of Keisetsu Yoshimaru(sp..?) .
