Does anyone use an "out-of-the-box" database program for student tracking?
Or, are folks just building their own Access database for dojo management?

Thanks for any and all replies,

Hello,

I've spent a small fortune on 'out-of-the-box' dojo software packages, that have iether too many features that you don't need (and make the software way too complex) or they end up crashing or are full of too many bugs. MS Access is very good, you can make your own templates or modify it through the set-up wizard. Also programs such as ACT and Maximiser are very good as well. Most of the time you can get last years version free on the cover of various computer magazines as CD or DVD-ROM. On the accounting side of things Quicken's and MYOB's retail solutions (Point of Sales) software are very good as well.

Regards,
