I watch Mythbusters quite often. I'll have to check it out.

Oooo. I hope Myth Busters do better than their sword breaking sword myth. They never even tried cutting the back of the blade where the metal was obviously softer.

I think the sword against sword thing in reality would have been down to vastly differing qualities of metal like steel against iron. plus they had no "slice" action with the cut in the experiment, only chop, this would reduce the effectiveness. still a great show though, cant wait to see this installment, anyone know when it airs in UK?

Ninja myths? I didn't know there were any worth addressing--besides the odd idea people have that I can disappear and levitate, of course.

You mean you can't? Sheesh, what's the point of training, then?

i can levitate but you need to be at a behind me and at 45 degree angle from me and 5-10 feet away for it to work

Here's a summary of the parts of it I'm involved with:

http://forums.swordforum.com/showthread.php?t=76459

I actually managed to set them straight on a lot of things. They asked, among other things, whether ninja could catch arrows and throw them back with enough force to do damage. I pointed out that in feudal Japan the bow was a battlefield weapon. For the battlefield, instead of developing arrow-catching skills, they developed stuff we call armor. Likewise, when muskets became popular they didn't work on bullet-catching skills, they upgraded their armor. . .
