Dear Folks:

When the name Obata comes up I have found it usually touches on his writings about sword, or his translation of HEIHO OKUGISHO. I know he has done both a book and tape entitles SAMURAI AIKIJUJUTSU but I have yet to see where anyone has actually discussed his approach, background, pedagogy etc etc. Is this a worthwhile topic? Has this already been discussed? I did a search here and the responses seemed to deal only with the swordwork. Anyone?

Best Wishes,

Bruce

and is very under-rated for some reason (IMO).

I haven't had the pleasure(?) of feeling it, but by all accounts, and what video I've seen...WOW...

Can't believe it would be under-rated myself. Probably more a case of different strokes than anything else.

Best,
Ron (here's hoping I get to feel it one day)
