On Saturday, 12-30-00, the US east coast is expected to be walloped with 10 inches of snow.

If you were marooned at home, what would you stock pile in necessities and goodies?

I would stock:

Umpteenth videos, wasabi peas, beef jerky, dried squid, and standard groceries.

Rice, noodles, lap cheung and other waxed and salted meats and fish, thousand year old egg, other stuff to make congee, rice ball (Cantonese and Shanghai style), bok choy, spianch, bunch of steaks (rib eye and NY Strip), and bodingtons ale.

M, do you like spianch suateed with preserved (stinky) tofu?

Happy and Prosperous New Year to all,

M, since moving back from Hong Kong in Dec. '98, I have not trained vigorously in Kyukoshin; 3 girls, one boy, hectic job, and being 40+ makes training difficult. I am a long time student of S. Oyama (NYC), but have trained with other Kyukoshin teachers.

My MA focus in the last two years has been on iai and jo. It's fun stuff and the folks are great.

Best,
