The Bartitsu Society has unearthed a copy of "Jiujitsu: the Old Samurai Art of Fighting Without Weapons" by the Reverend T. Lindsay and Jigoro Kano, originally the text of a lecture delivered on April 18th, 1888.
The text is 17 pages long and includes a history of jiujitsu, overviews of some of the prominent schools and teachers of the time (Yoshinryu, Kito-Ryu, etc.), some technical commentary and a selection of "jiujitsu stories".
The PDF is too large to uload here as an attachment but it's available as "Kano PDF" in the Files section of the Bartitsu Forum email list - http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bartitsu_Forum/files/ . You'll need an account with YahooGroups to access the file.
Cheers,
Tony
